Regions that wish to be constituted as a legal entity in a single country or a group of countries may set up an association under national or international law provided the rules set out in this document are followed. Regions consisting of several countries may create a national legal entity for each country.
Article 1
NAME
Any such association may not have a name or an acronym that is identical to that of AIIC. Its name may be followed by a reference to AIIC (for instance, "Local Section of AIIC").
Article 2
LOGO
AIIC authorizes these associations, as well as the regions themselves to use the Association's logo.
Article 3
MEMBERSHIP
Membership of such an association shall be limited to AIIC members who have their professional address in the country or countries concerned, without it being possible for any of them to be excluded, except as a result of measures provided for in the Association's Statutes.
It may only exist insofar as all AIIC members having their professional address in the region or country(countries) concerned are members thereof.
If a member resigns from such an association, he is deemed to have resigned also from AIIC.
The members' status shall be the same as their status in AIIC.
If the laws applicable in a region or a country make it impossible for the above principles to be respected, AIIC reserves the right not to recognise the national/regional association as an association coinciding with a region and to refuse it the right to use the AIIC logo and name.
Article 4
EXCLUSIVITY
There can only be one association per country or group of countries that is part of AIIC.
Article 5
MANAGING BODY
The composition of the managing body of such an association must be identical to that of the Regional Bureau.
In the case of a region consisting of several countries, members of the Regional Bureau must be members of the managing body of their respective national associations, where applicable.
Article 6
RULES AND ACTIVITIES
All AIIC rules shall apply to national/regional associations.
All activities of a national/regional association must be compatible with the aims of AIIC and more specifically, of the region in question. They must be in conformity with the AIIC statutory documents.
Article 7
MEMBERSHIP LIST
Any national/regional association may publish a list of its members. The information shown must be the same as that which appears on the AIIC list of members.
Article 8
CONSTITUTIVE DOCUMENTS
When a region becomes a national regional association, it shall submit its constitutive documents, its rules of procedure and, where appropriate, its Statutes, to the Council for approval.
Article 9
OBSERVANCE OF AIIC RULES AND REGULATIONS
Should such an association fail to respect AIIC's rules and regulations, AIIC shall reserve the right not to recognise it as a legal entity representing the region concerned. In this eventuality, it may also decide to take measures against members in the region concerned.
Article 10
DISSOLUTION
In case of dissolution of a national/regional association, the remaining assets are transferred to its corresponding region.
Article 11
AMENDMENT PROCEDURE
This regulation may be modified by a decision of the Council taken with a two-thirds majority of votes cast and, if appropriate, after having sought a legal opinion on the proposals.
