Trainer - Dick Fleming, (formerly organiser of EU Commission interpreter training course and subsequently Trainer of Trainers both in-house and for various universities)
Interpreter Training Case studies
In this 2 day training workshop for teachers of conference interpreting Dick Fleming will address a number of typical training issues faced by interpreter trainers.
The workshop will be tailored specifically to the needs of those trainers who register to participate. Participants will be invited to send in learning issues that they are faced with when teaching conference interpreting and for which they would like ideas and solutions. We will ask you to do this 6 weeks in advance of the course. Both consecutive and simultaneous will be addressed. (Language specific issues may be submitted, but it may not be possible to deal with them.)
A selection/ all of the issues raised by the participants will then be addressed during the course.
In this way we hope to participants both answers to specific issues that interest them, whilst also offering a broad and informative overview of questions exercising other teachers.
Participants should be practising conference interpreters and trainers of conference interpreters.
The workshop will be held in English.
