The Austria sub-sector,
Having considered the CEB Proposal sent to the ND on 13 July 2011,
1. Thanks the ND for posting the Organisations’ proposal on the Extranet;
2. Categorically rejects the Organisations’ proposal, in particular any deterioration in the working conditions that have been considered to be “signed and sealed” (vérouillées) since 2000, as well as remuneration rates;
3. Endorses both resolutions adopted by sub-sectors Italy and Canada;
4. Calls on the ND to insist on negotiating on the basis of the current calculation methodology;
5. Suggests to all colleagues who accept firm offers/options for 2012 to sign with the proviso “subject to the conclusion of a satisfactory CEB/AIIC Agreement”;
6. Further calls on all colleagues in all sub-sectors to mobilise for the World Sectoral on 3 September 2011 and remain vigilant in defence of the working conditions and remuneration of all freelance interpreters working in the UN system;
7. Also calls on all staff interpreters as well as AIIC Staff Interpreters’ Committee to mobilise in defence of the working conditions of all interpreters in the UN system.
