Ph.D. or equivalent (i.e., terminal degree in the field) required. Language pair Spanish-English: native or near-native proficiency in both required; third language preferred. Significant teaching and administrative experience at the university level required.
Record of successful recent professional interpreting experience required. Demonstrated interdisciplinary teaching and research interests, ability to work with students from diverse cultural backgrounds, and commitment to teaching excellence and scholarship essential. Strong international experience and knowledge of technology-mediated instruction strongly preferred. Demonstrated leadership potential a plus. Expertise in grant writing desirable. Applicants must present a coherent research agenda, provide evidence of teaching effectiveness, and be willing to work collaboratively with administrators, colleagues, and students as the department continues to engage in a process of redefinition leading to the development of a new doctoral degree program.
