You will be an active conference interpreter working with Chinese (Mandarin) and English and with experience of training conference interpreters at postgraduate level. You will ideally have a relevant postgraduate degree, and be a member of AIIC or at least eligible and willing to become a candidate member.
Your A language will be either Modern Standard Chinese (Mandarin) or English, and you should have standard Mandarin at least as a B language. Cantonese B or C would be an additional advantage, but is not essential. You will be expected to make an active contribution to the development and delivery of postgraduate programmes in conference interpreting. You may also be required to teach modules in related subjects, including written translation.
The University would prefer to make a full-time appointment, but is prepared to discuss the possibility of a part-time (0.5) appointment.
Closing date: 1st August 2002
Interviews are likely to be held on: 4th September 2002
