Three work stoppages have been organised in the Council: 24 February, 1 March and 8 March. The current strike notice (préavis de grève) covered these stoppages. Interpretation stopped in all meetings - including Coreper 1 & 2 - and explanatory leaflets in the 11 EU languages were given to delegates. The leaflets were also circulated among Council staff.
The professional and trade union organisations will file a new strike notice on our behalf next week.
We now have official confirmation that the proposal for amendment to Article 78 CEOS is on the agenda of the General Affairs Council 20 March 2000.
You are invited to attend a sectoral meeting on 21 March. The delegation will present its report and if the Council has voted against the proposal or not reached a decision, we will review all our options and consider how to step up our action.
