Bosch Press Release

By Gerrit J. Beuzel (gerrit.beuzel@pcsi.bosch.com)

The Integrus from Bosch enables language distribution without distortion

The Integrus from Bosch (formerly known as Philips Communication, Security & Imaging) is

the world's first fully digital infra-red language distribution system.

It manages to achieve what has long been the wish of many congress specialists, delegates and Interpreters: high-quality, wireless audio distribution which is completely immune to distortion from hall lighting. It is also easy to use and widely compatible. Integrus is ideal for congress centers, universities, international organizations, or indeed any venue where simultaneous interpretations take place.

Perfection in reception

The most remarkable aspect of the Integrus is its sound quality. By using a higher frequency band (2 to 6 MHz) it operates way beyond the reach of all types of hall lighting. Furthermore, specially-developed digital audio technology ensures a crystal clear signal throughout the venue. This loss-free transmission means sound comes out exactly as it goes in, which improves speech intelligibility and therefore leads to greater listening comfort.

Easy channel selection

Any one of up to 32 different interpretations can be selected by simply scrolling though the menu shown on the LED display. Any unused channels are automatically removed from the menu, which makes it easier to find the desired language.

Compatible with virtually every congress system

Integrus is widely compatible with existing congress infrastructure. It links up to the DCN (Digital Congress Network) to keep the entire congress proceedings in the digital domain, bringing far greater control and better audio quality. It can be used with Bosch discussion systems (CCS 800 Ultro) for perfect reception at smaller meetings. And it also interfaces easily with virtually any other brand of congress system.

Complete freedom of movement and guaranteed privacy

Being infra-red, Integrus is a wireless language distribution system, so conference delegates can enjoy complete freedom of movement while listening to the interpretation of their choice. And infra-red transmission guarantees privacy, as signals do not pass through walls or ceilings.

Fully approved

Integrus is the world's first infra-red language distribution system to fully comply with the IEC 61603 part 7 standard. This is the industry standard for transmission in the 2 to 6 MHz frequency band.

A complete system

The heart of the Integrus system is the central unit. It interfaces with congress and interpretation systems and is also connected to infra-red radiators, which transmit interpretations to ergonomically-designed receivers. These attractive receivers are stylishly curved to fit easily into a shirt a jacket pocket. Delegates listen to the interpretation of their choice using headphones or lightweight ear hangers.

DCN - for meetings of all sizes

The Integrus is part of the successful DCN range, which support discussion, presentations, decision-making and information distribution. The DCN is ideal in situations ranging from small-scale meetings to major international congresses with thousands of delegates.
