Any questions? - AIIC Belgium meets future colleagues

On Saturday, April 1st, the Belgian Region of AIIC holds its fifth annual information meeting for students training in interpretation, their teachers, and newcomers in the profession. The meeting will take place in the Crowne Plaza Hotel, rue Gineste 3 in Brussels from 10.30-12.30 a.m.

The introductory session will cover AIIC's aims and services and advice by experienced members on how best to get started as an interpreter in Belgium.

Informal discussions, over a drink, will enable the guests to make useful contacts with professionals, and AIIC to get a clearer idea of students' and young interpreters' problems and expectations. Past meetings also furthered a constructive exchange with teachers in different interpreters' schools.

The meeting is organised by the ‘Groupe Jeunes’, the Belgian region's contact point for students and young interpreters. For further information or ideas for improvement please contact one of the members:

	Dirk Reunbrouck Date: 18 Jun 2003 21:38 Subject: lid worden Om lid te worden moet u dus conferentietolk zijn en 150 dagen werkervaring hebben. De volledige uitleg vindt u op deze webstek onder de rubriek "how to join". Het komt er gewoon op neer dat u per talenpaar dat u aanbiedt twee handtekeningen van aiic-leden bij elkaar moet sprokkelen. Pre-kandidaat worden gaat veel sneller: gewoon drie handtekeningen verzamelen van aiic-leden (ongeacht hun talencombinatie) met wie u hebt samengewerkt. Tot zover mijn antwoord in een notendop, voor meer uitleg sta ik ter beschikking maar dan zou ik wel iets meer achtergrond moeten kennen: bent u al actief als tolk, op welke markt werkt u/wilt u werken, met welke talencombinatie, heeft u een opleiding tot tolk gevolgd etc? Manuel Sant'Iago Ribeiro Date: 31 Mar 2000 03:43 Subject: accueil des jeunes Quand la region Portugal en a fait pareil, j'ai debarqué avec deux valises pleines de bouquins,photocopies,articles sur le métier,l'industrie etc,théoriques et pratiques...mis sur une table avec invitation a feuilleter ( et interdiction d'emporter les originaux!)les jeunes collègues ont apprecié l'idée!
