Introducing International Institutions - OECD

7pm, 28th January, 2010, at ISIT, 39bis rue d'Assas, 75006 Paris

OECD provides a setting where governments of democratic market economies can compare policy experiences, seek answers to common problems, identify good practice and coordinate domestic and international policies.

OECD's work is based on continued monitoring of events in member countries as well as outside the OECD area, and includes regular projections of short and medium-term economic developments. The OECD Secretariat collects and analyses data on the basis of which the Organisation makes recommendations to the Member governments.

From its HQ  in Paris it recruits mostly from the Paris FR-EN bi-active market, with some other languages required for occasional meetings.

Tom Afton, Chief Interpreter, will be presenting the Institution and its interpreting needs and recruitment practices.
