Photos from AIIC events, training sessions, seminars and get-togethers during May 2019

Every month AIIC's regional bureaux, committees and groups host events and courses around the globe. Featured here are snapshots from some AIIC events during May.

AIIC VEGA (USA) spoke with a group of graduating students and working community interpreters at the University of Maryland's College Park campus just outside of Washington, DC. on 15 May. The interactive session focused on "Best Practices" before, during and after a conference interpreting assignment, including such topics as booth manners, social media etiquette and perceptions of  quality among interpreters and users of our services.

AIIC Belgium Student Outreach Event

On 11 May in Brussels, the Belgium AIIC Network of Trainers (BANT) held an outreach event to introduce AIIC to interpreting students and explain why and how to become a member.

AIIC VEGA goes to FTSK Germersheim – Germany

Great event for future colleagues at FTSK Germersheim: On 10 May  Germany's AIIC VEGA representative Andrea Borges spoke to an audience of 55 students, professors and recent graduates about AIIC, VEGA, professional standards, code of ethics, paths towards AIIC membership, as well as current trends & statistics in conference interpreting. The event was simultaneously translated into English, Spanish, French, Russian, Italian, Polish, and Dutch. Andrea's talk was followed by a lively Q&A session - thanks to everyone at FTSK Germersheim who made this possible!
