AIIC collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each User request. AIIC's purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how the Users use the Service. From time to time, AIIC may release non-personally-identifying information in the aggregate, e.g., by publishing a report on trends in the usage of the Site.
Collection of personal data of Users
Certain Users of the Site choose to interact with the Site in ways that require AIIC gather personal data, i.e. all information relating to an identified or identifiable person. The amount and type of information that AIIC gathers, depends on the nature of the interaction. For example, AIIC asks Users for certain Services to provide a username and email address. In each case, AIIC collects such information only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of the User's interaction with the Service. Users can always refuse to supply personal data, with the caveat that it may prevent Users from engaging in certain Site-related activities.
AIIC may collect statistics about the behavior of Users of the Site. AIIC may monitor the most popular content on the Site to help identify spam. AIIC may display this information publicly or provide it to others for this sole purpose.
Protection of personal data
AIIC discloses the User's personal data only to those of its employees, contractors and affiliated organisations that (i) need to know that information in order to process it on AIIC'S behalf or to provide Services available on the Site, and (ii) that have agreed not to disclose it to others. Some of those employees, contractors and affiliated organisations may be located outside of the User's home country, in countries not ensuring adequately protection of personal data, and by using the Site, the User expressly consents to the communication o and the transfer abroad of such personal data to them.
Other than to its employees, contractors and affiliated organisations or as described above, AIIC discloses personal data only when required to do so by law, or when AIIC believes in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the property or rights of AIIC, third parties or the public at large. If Users are a registered User of the Site, have supplied an email address, and agreed to receive information about new products, Services or general information from AIIC, AIIC may occasionally send the User an email to tell the User about new features, solicit the User's feedback, or just keep the User up to date with what's going on with AIIC's Services. AIIC primarily uses AIIC's Service to communicate this type of information, so AIIC expects to keep this type of email to a minimum. If the User sends AIIC a request (for example via a support email or via one of AIIC's feedback mechanisms), AIIC reserves the right to publish it in order to help AIIC clarify or respond to the User's request or to help us support other users. AIIC takes all measures reasonably necessary to protect against the unauthorized access, use, alteration or destruction of personal data
The User should also be aware that if the User publishes information onto the Site, such information becomes public information. Such disclosures may also increase the User's chances of receiving unwanted communications.
