Third training of trainers seminar

Date: 28-29 January 2005 Place: Rome, Italy

Ingrid Kurz, professor of interpretation studies at the University of Vienna, will offer a seminar on  Class management (lesson planning, resources, feedback etc.)

This is the third of a series of pedagogical seminars organised by the AIIC Training Committee. Future seminars will cover other aspects of teaching conference interpreting. Participants receive a Certificate of Attendance from AIIC for each individual seminar attended. Those who attend all seminars will be awarded a Certificate of Completion for the full AIIC Training of Trainers series. This seminar will be held in English.

The seminar is designed for

  • experienced conference interpreters intending to teach,
  • conference interpreters with limited classroom experience wishing to enhance their    teaching strategies,
  • experienced teachers of interpretation interested in pooling pedagogical ideas.

Minimum attendance for seminar to be held: 8. Maximum number of participants: 20.

If enough people sign up, a second “Class management” seminar will be held on the 29th (afternoon only) and on the 30th (all day). In that event, participants will be asked a preferred date.

November 13, 2004 closing date for all applications. Receipt of all applications will be acknowledged
November 28, 2004 course participants will receive confirmation, a detailed program and paying instructions by this date
