This day commemorates the beginning of the Nuremberg Trials in 1945, during which pioneers of the interpreting profession played a pivotal role.

The Argentine Association of Conference Interpreters (ADICA) announced a new edition of Conference Interpreter´s Day for November 20th. In 2013, ADICA made the decision to establish this day with the aim of celebrating the work of professional conference interpreters and also to give more visibility to the Association and the profession as a whole. The date was chosen to commemorate the beginning of the Nuremberg Trials in 1945, during which pioneers of the interpreting profession played a key role when judging the war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by the Nazi regime. ADICA´s initiative to celebrate this profession and to differentiate it from its sister profession, the written translation, was pioneer and deserved the recognition of other associations and colleagues. ADICA is also pleased to have the recognition of the International Association of Conference Interpreters, many of whose members in Argentina are also members
